What is the CDCP?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that helps cover the cost of dental services for eligible residents who don’t have access to private dental insurance. Depending on your household income, the plan covers a portion — or all — of the cost of eligible treatments.
What’s typically covered
- Preventive care such as exams, cleanings, and X-rays
- Fillings and other basic restorative treatments
- Extractions and certain oral surgery procedures
- Dentures and additional services, subject to plan rules
